How can you clear your cache in Safari: tips and tricks!

Share

As you use your Safari browser, it’s very important to keep in mind that browsers always store a lot of website files locally. They do that to ensure that whenever you visit the website again, you speed up the loading process and those files don’t have to be downloaded again. However, the challenge here is that cache accumulates at a very quick rate, and thus you have a lot of wasted space on your device. That’s why it’s important to learn how to clear the Safari cache. Here are some of the methods you can use.

Clearing the website data

If you want to delete Safari cache, the entire process is very simple, and it requires only a few important steps to consider.

  • Enter Safari and then the Safari Menu
  • Choose Settings
  • Here you want to select the Privacy tab
  • Press the option to Manage Website Data
  • Now, you want to wait for the data to load, and then click Remove All.

That will help you get rid of all the website data you have stored on your device. It’s a good option to consider, if your focus is on saving as much space as you can. Remember that you can delete data only for a specific website. Safari will tell you what data is stored, it could be cookies and local storage, cache, HSTS policies and so on.

Deleting autofill data

Autofill can be a great option for people that get tired of typing the same data over and over. The problem is that storing such data locally can be a privacy risk. Hackers that get access to your browser will have access to that info. Deleting the autofill data helps immensely, and here’s what you need to do.

  • Go to the Safari Menu and then choose Settings
  • From here, select Autofill
  • Now you want to deselect checkboxes next to autofill data.

Removing any stored passwords and usernames

If you store your user/password data in your browser, it’s a good idea to start doing that. Thankfully, the process is quite simple and easy to do:

  • Go to the Safari/Settings/Autofill section and press Edit
  • Now you want to press Edit near the user/password section
  • You will be required to type in your password
  • Right click on the website where you want to remove credentials, and then press Delete
  • If you have credit card info saved, press Edit near that option
  • Now you want to select what details you want to delete.

Ideally, you want to avoid keeping any sensitive data on your device, because that could be a problem. That’s especially true when it comes to credit card info. The most important thing is to ensure that you prevent hackers from accessing your data, and clearing your cache in Safari can be a solid way of doing that. Of course, removing the browser history can be a solid way of doing that, so take it into consideration!

Clearing the Safari history

If you really want to delete Safari history, the best way of doing that is to just go to the History menu in Safari and here you choose to Clear History. You can select the clear data, it can be from the beginning, today, last week and so on. It’s important to try and clear data as often as you can. Remember, the cache data and history could be useful, but they can also get hacked and hackers could try to use that info to manipulate you. That’s why you always want to improve your process and experience, it certainly works, and it can provide a much better outcome than expected.

Use a Mac cleanup tool

In case you want to speed up the process and not deal with any rush or issues, it’s a much better idea to opt for a Mac cleanup tool. The role of a cleanup tool is to ensure that you can automatically delete unnecessary cache from browsers. All you have to do is to enter the cleanup tool, set it up and it will remove your cache in no time. That’s extremely reliable and effective, and it will help speed up your device, while saving space.

We are firm believers that using these tips can help ensure you clear the cache in Safari quickly and without having to waste any time. At the end of the day, the most important thing is to take your time and ensure that everything is handled appropriately. There are always challenges when it comes to protecting your data and privacy. Deleting the Safari cache should always be one of the actions you do in order to stay safe online. Once you start doing so, it will provide a much better experience, and you don’t have to worry about hackers accessing your account!
